Yes, you can hurt them. Read this article and realize that your community needs your dollars. Take action if you have your money in one of the six Too-Big-To-Fail banks: Wells Fargo, Citi Group, Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, and Morgan Stanley. Bring your dollars "home" to your community and put them to work locally.
We've always banked locally and for the past 20-some years have banked with our local credit union. One interesting consequence of the globalization/consolidation of banks has been the proliferation of small, local banks. The phenomenon appears to be repeating itself with microbreweries. Jim
